Special Projects & High-Stakes Stone Advisory
When the Stone IdeaIs Extraordinary,Get the Execution Right.
Independent advisory for designers, architects, builders, and owner’s representatives handling custom, high-stakes stone work. We help teams decide what’s possible, source the right material, and protect design intent from concept through installation.
Selective by design. Currently accepting 3–4 engagements per quarter.
Feasibility. Material direction. Sourcing. Fabricator alignment. Procurement. Delivery. Install-stage oversight. When a stone idea is too important, too unusual, or too risky to leave loosely coordinated — that’s where we work.
The stone you specified is no longer available — and the project is six weeks from fabrication.
The installed countertop looks nothing like the sample the client approved.
Nobody on the team has verified that the block has enough usable slabs for the scope.
The fabricator is laying out slabs for maximum yield, not maximum beauty.
Procurement is three months behind schedule and no one owns the problem.
The design calls for bookmatched stone, but no one has done the yield math or planned the slab sequence.
Bring the Projects No One Wants to Guess Through.
A monolithic fireplace surround carved from a single block. A bookmatched installation where continuity cannot be lost. Raw block sourced from a specific quarry for a one-of-a-kind piece. A team with a strong design idea but no clean path from concept to finished work. These are the projects where we fit best. If it involves stone and no one wants to guess their way through it, this is the conversation to start.
Explore special projectsMost projects start before anything is purchased. A team has a concept, a material direction, or a problem — and needs clarity on feasibility, sourcing reality, sequencing, and risk. We get that clarity early, then stay involved as needed. For some teams that means a focused review. For others, it becomes ongoing oversight through fabrication and installation.
For special projects, the best starting point is usually a free 15-minute sanity check. If the concept needs deeper analysis, we can move into a paid feasibility review or a broader strategy engagement.

Built for Difficult Stone Work
Nearly two decades in rare stone. From early sales at a local fabrication company to nine years representing Antolini Luigi & C Spa — one of Italy’s most prestigious exotic stone houses — across the United States, while simultaneously building Stone Trend, a luxury stone boutique in Seattle, from an empty warehouse into one of the finest curated collections in the Pacific Northwest.
What sets Mark apart isn’t just knowing stone — it’s knowing the entire chain. The quarry, the factory, the processing standards, the supplier, the logistics, the fabricator. That’s what allows ambitious concepts to move from idea to finished work without losing the point of the design.

“Two slabs can carry the same name and have nothing in common. Block quality, factory standards, processing technology — the stone itself has to be right before anything else matters.”
