About Mark Hubert

A Career in Rare Stone

Nearly two decades in rare stone. From early sales at a local fabrication company to nine years representing one of Italy’s most prestigious stone houses across the United States — training distributor sales teams, meeting directly with designers, architects, and builders in every major market, conducting continuing education courses, and evaluating material quality in the field.

During that time, Mark simultaneously built Stone Trend — a luxury stone boutique in Seattle. He found the space, negotiated the lease, oversaw construction of a 26,000 square foot carpeted showroom, and personally curated every slab in inventory. It became one of the most respected stone collections in the Pacific Northwest.

He has curated ultra-luxury inventory for the most discerning designers and architects in the country — and spent nearly a decade on the road representing one of Italy’s most prestigious stone houses, meeting with design professionals in every major US market and helping specify materials for projects that set the standard for what luxury stone can be.

What sets Mark apart isn’t just knowing stone — it’s knowing the entire chain. The quarry, the factory, the processing standards, the supplier, the logistics, the fabricator. Every link has to be right. That knowledge doesn’t come from a catalog or a trade show — it comes from years of evaluating material at every stage, in every context, across hundreds of projects.

Currently developing Italian language skills — a commitment that reflects the international nature of this work.

Independence

Not tied to any supplier’s inventory. Recommendations driven by what’s right for the project.

Approach

I’m not here to replace your fabricator. I’m here to align the stone scope before cutting begins so nothing gets compromised.

Capacity

Fewer projects, deeper involvement. Three to four engagements at a time, not fifteen.

Serving projects across the United States and internationally. Advisory and procurement are managed remotely with targeted travel for slab evaluation, fabricator alignment, and critical project milestones.

Philosophy
Independence matters. We’re not tied to any supplier’s inventory, any fabricator’s schedule, or any yard’s sales targets. The recommendation is always what’s right for the project.

Fewer projects. Deeper involvement. Every engagement gets full attention because stone procurement doesn’t forgive distraction.

Hubert Stone exists to close the gaps before they become compromises — protecting design intent from the moment a slab is specified to the moment it is installed.
